Salary: Competitive, plus bonus between 8-16%, 38 days holiday, 10% pension

We're currently recruiting for a Senior Actuarial Technician to join our Actuarial Reporting Team to execute specific and regular Actuarial processes.
This position is an actuarial role within the Actuarial Services Validation Team focusing on the production and validation of key outputs of our actuarial valuation process. The role will have responsibility for validating output from our valuation model and supporting the completion of manual processes ahead of delivery to the Review Team. This in an excellent level role in which you will gain experience boosting your future career opportunities as you contribute to the processes within the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Production of various processes linked to our actuarial valuation model including collating and validating results from valuation runs.
- Manipulation of excel spreadsheets and parameters to produce manual calculations for onward review by the Validation Actuaries.
- Production of key analysis tools to support the Review Actuaries in signing off results including Analysis of Change, Profit and Loss Attribution, Assumption Setting and other sensitivities
- Ensure all data is prepared and reported in accordance with relevant reporting standards and business reporting requirements.
- Undertake project work to support the development of robust and effective financial reporting.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities.
- Support Senior Actuarial Analysts, Actuaries and other senior managers in their objective of meeting business and regulatory requirement, including communication of Actuarial results and analysis.
- Balancing competing priorities on different pieces of work in challenging timescales.
- Being able to adapt to the requirements of different types of work by planning and organising effectively.
- Keeping technical & business knowledge up to date in area of expertise.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- A basic understanding of relevant actuarial technical concepts and the ability to apply this appropriately to the work undertaken
- Experience of working within a Finance or Actuarial department
- Education - Undergraduate Degree (or equivalent)
- Strong analytical skills with a questioning attitude and a desire to understand

- A solid level of IT skills, including Excel, Word, Outlook
- A confident communicator who is delivery focused and able to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical colleagues in verbal and written exchanges
- A proven track record in delivering work to an appropriate quality
