Our Business Services team specialises in providing services and advice to privately owned businesses and their owners, high-net worth clients and high-income earners. Our clients include business owners across each stage of the business growth cycle and we offer and end-to-end service through our general service providers and specialist groups within our team. Our team service a broad set of business clients and industries with a number of areas of specialisation and high-value services build from deep experience.
The BDO WA Business Services team are seeking an experienced Manager or Senior Manager to join their growing team who can provide and/or develop into a strong team leader and further support the Business Services growth potential.
What you will need to succeed
- Relevant tertiary qualification
- CA/CPA qualification (or equivalent)
- Substantial experience in a commercial or public practice environment within business advisory field
- Strong leadership capabilities with demonstrated experience managing a team
Some of your key responsibilities include:
- Manage the team to ensure successful completion and execution assigned engagement
- Develop and mentor junior team members as they equip themselves to become trusted advisors of the future.
- Responsible for maintaining client relationships as required, including involvement in the initial planning meeting, maintaining proper regular contact and identifying issues to be resolved and actions required.
- Management of workflow and delegation of work to appropriate staff, ensuring jobs are completed efficiently, meet technical standards and are within deadlines and budgets.
- Responsible for development of new client engagements and particularly those value-add opportunities for existing clients.
- Managing the preparation of and review completed Income Tax, Fringe Benefits Tax Returns, BAS and special purpose financial reports for a wide variety of clients.
- Assisting clients with practical implementation of advice including procedures to implement structuring/restructuring advice, improve business processes, cash flows, forecasts, etc.
- Liaising with ATO and other external agencies in relation to client issues as required.
- Demonstrate in depth knowledge of relevant industries, legislation and practice to support client needs.
