Dimensions & Accountabilities:

The Global IT Project Assurance resource will be supporting the top leadership with validating delivery of our IT strategy (including Business Value agenda) and objectively highlighting strengths and weaknesses in our delivery organization. This is achieved by executing and observing Project/Program/Product reviews in order to offer recommendations that will improve the chances of project success and value delivery, then aggregating findings in order to identify systemic areas for improvement.

The biggest focus is on Top IT Projects, which are the 1% most important, strategic and impactful IT deliveries across all LoBs. These ~70 projects/programmes represent a total of $500m IT spend. The objective is to review 1/3 of them, based on criticality and risks. In recent years, leadership has also leveraged our delivery excellence experience to review and support non-Top IT projects, especially those facing delivery challenges.

Because of the visibility and sensitivities of our findings, the Project Assurance Lead will manage stakeholder ranging from Project Managers to CIOs and VPs, across both business and IT organizations.

Working alongside the existing 2 Project Assurance Leads, this role will include improving, coordinating and delivering various assurance activities such as formal Value Assurance Reviews (VARs), Light VARs and startup reviews.

Project reviews will leverage existing skills and further develop the following competencies:
  • Objective thinking and analysis of project risks, stepping outside the box of your own project to offer recommendations and best practices to manage project delivery risks.
  • Influencing skills to encourage stakeholders and delivery teams to perceive and address challenges in order to maximize project success and Value.
  • Questioning & Listening skills during interviews, Analysis & Writing skills during report write up, Presentation skills during the read-out meetings.
