Commercial Finance Analyst

What will you be doing?

We're recruiting for a Commercial Finance Analyst to join our UK Business Finance team. The Commercial Finance Analyst provides financial insight and advice to the sales and commercial teams of the Small Business and Regions segments. This key finance role has responsibility for comprehensive commercial understanding and presentation of revenue, margin and KPI performance as well and business partnering on all finance related matters. Key areas of focus will be providing meaningful and value add financial insight into performance, providing high quality commercial analysis, holding the teams to account to deliver against the targets and ensuring alignment on key messages between the segments and Vodafone Business Finance.

You'll be required to play a key part in forecasting, planning and reporting including identifying ways to simplify processes. Working closely with the UK FP&A, FinOps and Business Intelligence teams, you'll be responsible for driving standardisation of monthly reporting outputs and eliminating pain points in the revenue and margin planning process.

Key accountabilities include:

• Finance analyst for Small Business and Regions revenue and margin. The role is to drive & hold the business to account on their revenue and margin targets. The success of this role is dependent on transparency, alignment, insight and accountability. This role will ensure segment teams are fully aligned on financial & operational performance.
• The role includes senior stakeholder engagement with regular interaction with UK Finance leadership team. It is critical the Commercial Finance Analyst can display strong analytical and presentational skills and be able to communicate confidently to senior management.
• Financial Analysis & Insight: It is imperative the finance analyst fully understands the financial performance and current trends for mobile and fixed across Small Business and Regions. On a monthly basis, key insight will be provided to the business, which explains current performance, identifies any potential risk & opportunity in a rolling outlook, highlights performance against key strategic initiatives. Role should also ensure key KPI's are fully understood.
• Business partnering: This role will provide the opportunity for the candidate to support the Commercial Finance manager in using analysis to influence the business. The finance analyst will be expected to provide high quality analysis to senior stakeholders on performance in this channel.
• Financial Integrity: The heart of this role is to ensure financial integrity of the segments. The finance analyst is responsible for ensuring 1) financial accuracy & predictability; 2) detailed analytics 3) understanding of all the unitary & volume drivers.
• Drive Key decision making with pace: With a deep understanding of revenue and margin, the finance analyst should be continuously looking to spot further opportunities, driving the correct actions into the business at pace.
• Holding colleagues to account: It is imperative the finance analyst supports the finance managers to layout clear deliverables and timelines to the business and UK finance support teams to ensure timely reporting to senior stakeholders.
• Business Collaboration: The success of this role is dependent on strong collaboration across multiple teams. A strong individual will ensure the multiple functions are aligned on their objectives and ensuring they are all working as one team. This role consistently requires information and output from FINOPS, FP&A and D&A.
• Finance Transformation: This role will provide the opportunity for the Commercial Finance Analyst to drive transformation across finance. This role will work closely with the Finance Digital Transformation team, and will be responsible for driving process simplification, automation & eliminating pain points from the Business Finance team. This includes continued optimisation of IFRS15 reporting and processes

Who are we looking for?

• Experience in a Commercial Finance role including evidence of driving strong commercial performance in challenging markets.
• Ideally ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or part qualified
• Excellent communication (both written and verbal) skills to influence and challenge senior stakeholders
• Comfortable operating at speed with multiple priorities and short deadlines
• Able to prioritise, multi-task and be comfortable with a changing environment
