Non-Executive Director Vacancy: Blackpool Transport Services Ltd
Allowance payment of £2,607 per year (gross figure)
We are looking to appoint a Non-Executive Director to join the Board of Blackpool Transport Services Ltd - a wholly owned company of Blackpool Council.
The successful person will be someone that can make a positive impact and vital contribution in helping the company to maintain its position as the key provider of transport services on the Fylde Coast, with its world famous tramway and local network of bus services.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape the direction of the company as it embarks upon a transition to an all-electric bus fleet as part of the Zero-Emission Bus Regional Area (ZEBRA) project as well the tramway extension in Blackpool.
To be successful in this role you will have Board/senior executive experience, have a strong understanding of good governance in companies and an ability to scrutinise and challenge performance of a company. Knowledge of the transport industry would be helpful particularly in the bus sector.
This role will require a time commitment of attendance of Board and committee meetings (approximately eight scheduled meetings plus any ad-hoc meetings), plus training and away days.
