Description
The Finance Business Partner- Transformation is a critical role within Finance as they work towards delivering Strategy 2026. The need for timely access to insightful, consistent management information to support decision making has never been greater. This is a challenging role which demands an ability to quickly grasp new ideas and concepts, and to develop innovative and creative solutions to problems to drive developments within the Finance Department, wider Professional Services and academic Faculties. These positions remain key to ensuring that the organisation is making the best use of its financial resources and to continue to demonstrate their bold ambitious plans, with strong links to purpose, transformation and delivery.
Duties will be as follows:
- To support the delivery of specific projects. You will test the effectiveness and affordability of new proposals and recommend alternatives through strategic interventions.
- To identify and deliver key improvement projects that will provide enhancements to service, process efficiency and financial reporting.
- Work with key stakeholders to identify and co-design new improved service offerings, including self-service opportunities.
- To work across various departments and peers to ensure the management, maintenance and development of the University's finance system
- Design and deliver finance training for non-finance managers, along with training for finance colleagues required to embed process enhancements
- Support and embed a continuous improvement culture to ensure effective and efficient reporting processes and documentation, with a service-led approach.
- To provide support to the Heads of Faculty Finance in relation to financial reporting, including planning, forecasting and monthly reporting.
- To support the financial aspects of investment appraisal and business cases, reviewing the financial impact of available options, providing robust financial challenge and ensuring that all business cases progressed withstand financial scrutiny during both planning and implementation phases.
Profile
You will be a Qualified CIMA/ ACCA/ ACA/CCAB/CIPFA candidate with a proven track record within a similar sized organisation. The successful candidate will be an individual who is looking to excel in a changing environment, is keen to drive innovation and make valuable impact at the University.
