We're currently recruiting for a Head of Financial Performance to join our Actuarial Reporting and Change Team in the Finance Reporting Centre. This is a strategically important role responsible for reporting, analysis and communication of financial performance information for use in key business decisions and in setting strategy, including solvency, liquidity and IFRS monthly MI, forecasting and planning. As a member of the Actuarial Reporting Leadership team this is a senior role leading the Financial Performance teams, applying deep technical & business knowledge to advise and guide senior management decision making, manage risks and controls and lead others either directly or indirectly in area of responsibility.

- Influence and challenge senior and executive level decisions, building strong cross-divisional relationships and networks to support the achievement of business objectives.
- Effective stakeholder management at all levels, including Exec and senior leadership across Finance Reporting Centre and Finance.
- Setting the strategic direction for the Financial Reporting Centre with respect to monthly MI reporting, and the actuarial forecasting for the business plan. Ensure major change programmes work to and support delivery of the strategic actuarial reporting processes.
- Delivery of regular transparent reporting for the regular MI, forecasting and AOP including analysis, commentary and insight, to a high quality and on time. This covers solvency, IFRS, liquidity and reporting of external metrics.
- Communicate reporting results and insight to actuarial reporting and director, LifeCo FD and other senior Finance and Finance Reporting Centre leads.
- Communicate effectively with a non-technical audience, enabling them to understand complex financial or actuarial information.
- Lead, develop, and coach the team to deliver effective and value add reporting and business insight. Manage and build a resource pool of senior actuaries, actuaries and analysts to deliver financial performance data and analysis and in support of strategic change programmes.
- Continually challenge, shape and develop work processes to ensure plans are delivered efficiently and within company risk framework.
- Ensure changes from programmes are appropriately managed into the team and all financial and operational impacts of change are correctly understood and addressed.
- Manage the specification, development and testing of complex numerical models, analysing a range of business data, providing detailed interpretation and making recommendations to senior management to support decision making.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Qualified Actuary with significant post-qualified experience
- In-depth technical knowledge of key reporting metrics and/or actuarial concepts relevant to actuarial reporting.
- Strong senior stakeholder management experience.
- People/team management experience
- Ability to communicate complex actuarial and finance concepts to a range of technical and non-technical audiences
- Knowledge of Capital Management processes and policies
- Planning skills
- Languages - English
Desirable
- Knowledge of Proxy Modelling techniques
- Experience leading change projects or workstreams therein
