Finance Manager for a large retail business based in Manchester and offer hybrid working and great benefits

Client Details

I am working with a market leading retail business who are based in Manchester and are looking to hire a Finance Manager in to their high calibre team. This is well known for how well they look after their employees and put them at the heart of what they do, which has created a fantastic working environment.


This Finance Manager role plays a key role in the efficiency of the businesses FSSC and will involve

  • lead a large team verifying reconciliation and control of all cash and banking across the business
  • further improve the end-to-end back-office treasury processes
  • make sure that queries from our senior leaders are resolved quickly and accurately by the team, reporting on key trends and escalating issues if necessary
  • work towards agreed timescales and cash optimisation targets agreed with our senior business leaders
  • support successful internal and external audits
  • lead the team through a significant period of transformation and change
  • have a focus on the continuous improvement of processes, procedures and best practices
  • build strong working relationships with senior leaders across the different business areas
  • mentor, guide and inspire the team, identifying areas of improvement and encouraging personal development


What you will need to succeed

  • an accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA), which is essential
  • proven leadership experience, with great people skills and the ability to inspire a team
  • previous treasury and banking experience within a shared services environment
  • strong financial control background
  • experience defining and delivering financial strategy
  • strong relationship building skills with the ability to operate with senior leaders across the business, challenging and influencing where necessary
  • experience delivering change programmes within a large organisation
