Introduction:

Responsible for the development of trading tools to support investment, hedging and liability management activities and play a support role in overseeing IT and QA change work impacting TFI. The role also provides analytical support to the traders and helps to develop TFI's risk control frameworks.

What will you be doing?
• Production of Daily Balance Sheet Flash reports for all the entities (BI, BUK and BBIE). This includes direct engagement with the TFI desks to explain the positions, analyzing their movements day-on-day and developing a deep understanding of the core drivers of the Treasury Balance sheet.
• Produce Projections/Outlooks/RWAs based on the assumptions provided by the TFI Trading desks to ensure month-end Spot Leverage Targets are met and communicate the results to the Front Office Stakeholders.
• Attend to queries from various stakeholders viz: Front Office, Liquidity Risk Reporting and Finance and ensure deliverables are made in agreed timelines. This will involve analyzing the breakdowns of various components of Balance sheet, RWAs and Liquidity Buffers.
• Work with Treasury Finance team to reflect the latest treasury transactions and also execute the Month-end, Quarter-end reconciliations with the actual balance sheet.
• Support standardization efforts and work on adhoc projects to add value to overall resource management process
• Support the R&A team in their role to shape IT strategy and prioritisation to achieve business objectives against a background of scarce IT resources. The role holder will assist in tracking and prioritization of IT development work.
• Engaging with multiple units across the Treasury space to understand trading requirements, maintaining constant visibility and open communication lines in the process.
• Supporting TFI and team members in technology projects (e.g. communicating requirements of TFI to business analysts, testing of new technology, and assisting the desk with adopting new technology).
• Interpret the MI demands and ensure MI is provided on a consistent, regular and reliable basis.

Over the next two year period, the successful candidate will provide support to the R&A team in delivering the following deliveries:
1. IBOR cessation and adoption of Risk Free Rates across Treasury.
2. The migration of the intra day risk platform from legacy to strategic systems and processes. This will be a significant delivery for the business, which usually has a multiple of market risk exposure than the rest of the bank combined.
3. Treasury Transaction Architecture delivery of strategic systems and operating model including market data consistency, trade representations, reconciliation of risk and P&L, reporting and flash P&L mechanisms.
4. Evolution of the Hypercube Reporting platform, critical to the TFI business.
5. Involvement in commitments to support delivery of Hedge Accounting to the Treasury functions in the US and Asia.

What we're looking for:
• Undergraduate or equivalent degree. Strong preference is for a degree in a numerical discipline.
• Demonstrable understanding of technology and/or business processes.
• Subscribes to and can demonstrate Barclays Values and Mindset.
• Good communication skills
• Intellectual honesty and curiosity.

Skills that will help you in the role:
• Markets (Fixed Income/Treasury Product) background is desirable - e.g. Front office trading, risk management of trading book, or technology support for FO team.
• Proficient IT skills and willingness to learn are essential. One or more of SQL, Python, VBA, R knowledge is desirable.
• Ability to work independently and deliver with accuracy and attention to detail.
