JOB PURPOSE

We`re looking for a Tax Compliance Accountant to join us in Bradford.

This role sits in the LGSSC Financial Accounting team supporting and working closely with the LG US and UK Corporate Tax teams in Denver and London to perform various components and tasks within the compliance function within the overall structure and workstreams of the larger team.

The role will provide exposure to the functions of a Corporate Tax department of a large multi-national company with a focus on compliance with corporate tax filing requirements (planning, risk management, financial reporting, understanding foreign reporting and requirements, etc) and will be a great opportunity to gain experience of the practical considerations of a large company's international tax position and challenges that come from complex legal and tax structures.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Assist in the completion of various tax filings with focus on US and UK required tax compliance
  • Assist in completing and reviewing tax calculations for group companies related to depreciation, amortization, financial products, debt instruments and transaction impacts
  • Assist in modelling tax results for group companies, including collecting data and completing models to assist in preparation
  • Assist in researching tax issues including developing approach / basis for company's tax position
  • Work to improve processes around tax compliance and information gathering, including:
  • Assist in ad hoc projects and workstreams for the Corporate Tax Team as needed
  • Participate in tax team training and professional development opportunities.
  • Working towards the completion of a professional qualification would be expected (ATT, AAT, CTA, ACCA etc)
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
  • Part qualified accountant or tax advisor (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CTA etc) or a graduate who is keen to embark on an accounting/tax qualification.
  • Past experience of tax compliance activity an advantage but not essential.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to identify and drive the resolution of errors or issues
  • Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Self-motivated, well organized, able to prioritize and plan effectively, anticipate issues and solve problems
