About Maya & Associates LLC:
Maya & Associates LLC, a U.S Accounting firm, is a mid-sized practice providing an extensive range of professional services to cater to the financial needs across several industries. We have a stable and loyal client base, where personal recommendations and referrals demonstrate the satisfaction and confidence clients have in our services. We offer a wide range of solutions for small to mid-sized US-based businesses, including outsourced Business Plans, Business Formation, Bookkeeping, HR & Payroll, and State & Federal Income Taxes across all 50 states in the United States. Maya & Associates LLC is also an ICAEW ATE and ACCA Gold employer.
Who we are looking for:
We're looking to recruit a number of ACCA affiliates/members who aspire to become ICAEW (ACA) chartered accountants. We have high standards and are looking for candidates with excellent academic qualifications as well as drive, ambition, and a thirst for success.
What we offer:
ACA Trainees enjoy a competitive salary, with salary increases based on exams and work performance. Add to this the opportunities and varied lifestyle that working in the US-based accounting and finance firm has to offer and it all adds up to a very rewarding opportunity.
Your route to the ICAEW (ACA) qualification:
You will enter employment under a three-year training contract (two years in case of ACCA Member), during which you will receive a wide range of practical experience while studying for your professional examinations; all of which leads to the ICAEW (ACA) Chartered Accountant qualification. The 3 years of your training contract will be divided into the following departments:
1st year: Accounting & Finance services
2nd year: Payroll, State and Local Tax
3rd year: Financial Planning and Income Tax
The role will include assistance in the preparation of statutory and management accounts and the associated tax compliance work as well as assisting on audit assignments for an array of clients.
The benefits of training with a mid-sized firm:
A major benefit of training with a mid-sized firm (compared with a much larger firm) is the depth and variety of assignments you will be involved with. You will have exposure to a wide range of assignments with clients of all sizes in various industry sectors. In larger firms, trainees often spend much of their training confined to audit work because of the sheer scale of audit work. Audit work is just one small aspect of an assignment and in a medium size firm such as Maya & Associates LLC, you will benefit from having exposure to many different areas of client work. In addition, you'll tend to work with far more clients in a mid-sized firm (giving you a broad-ranging experience) because the time spent at each client tends to be far less than that of a larger firm. With a mid-sized firm, you'll also benefit from involvement from the firm's partners & directors, who will take a direct interest in your development and support you through your training.
Qualities we are looking for:
• To be self-motivated and have the willingness to take responsibility.
• To be self-confident and use your own initiative.
• To have an adaptable and sociable personality and have an energetic & enthusiastic approach.
• Willingness to assist others and to take on new challenges.
• To have leadership and management potential.
• Have a preference for a breadth of experience (e.g. bookkeeping, accounting, financial statements, tax, company secretarial, payroll, sales tax, advisory rather than just specializing in one stream initially).
Minimum entry requirements:
We are looking for mature, numerate, and intelligent students who are willing to work hard, study hard and play hard. Above all, you will need to have the flexibility to adapt to a variety of challenging situations and the communication skills to express ideas and deal with clients at all levels. We look for:
•ACCA member (eligible for 2 years contract)
•ACCA affiliate (eligible for 3 years contract)
•ACCA finalist (Minimum 10 papers cleared or expected to complete ACCA within next 6 months)
