Finance Manager responsible for planning and managing the department's research project portfolio, which includes assisting academic staff with their engagement with the Faculty's Research pre-award team, monitoring project expenditure, budgets, and ensuring the continued delivery of key services to senior management and academic staff.

Description
- You will oversee all transactions to ensure they are completed correctly, efficiently, and on schedule, in accordance with departmental and college regulations.
- You will be in charge of creating and analysing non-staff expenditure and management reports to inform departmental budget rounds, quarterly forecasting, and other activities.
- Responsible for creating, managing costing, and charging systems for departmental research facilities, collaborating with facility leads and central finance teams as needed.
- Monitor and analyse research activity, expenditures, and overheads to assist the Head of department and department operations manager in evaluating departmental performance.
- Provide professional advice to department senior management on grant and contract income estimates, as well as other high-level reporting, to enable correct planning of future departmental income.
- Oversee the allocation and award of departmental funding for postgraduate studentships, including budget spend reconciliation and funding costing.
- You will be responsible for managing major equipment acquisition processes, while ensuring that the department complies with different legislation and college policy regarding tendering processes.
Profile
- Extensive experience in developing and managing financial resources in higher education.
- Fully qualified accountant ACCA, CIPFA, CFA with the ability to convey financial information to both financial and non-financial staff.
- Knowledge of financial management of research grants and contracts, funding body policies and full economic costing.
- Experience of utilising information technology to manipulate data and provide management information reports.
Job Offer
- £54,000 - £60,000.
- 2 days a week in the office.
- 30 days annual leave.
- 8% pension contribution.
