Summary

Northern Trust is looking to recruit Liquidity professional for its Bangalore Centre. Successful recruits would be part of Northern Trust’s Liquidity Risk Management team. The candidate will play a key role in Northern Trust’s oversight of liquidity risk, by working closely with the global liquidity risk team. The position is in the second line of defense, that independently assesses the risk and practices performed by the Corporate Treasury function, thereby being an advisor to the Treasury team and collaborate with partners across departments, divisions and geographic regions. The candidate will have responsibilities in a variety of areas, regulatory interpretation, liquidity stress testing, liquidity limits methodologies, contingency funding plans, data and reporting, risk assessment, and governance policies and guidelines.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

Major Duties

  • Regulatory interpretation, reviewing and challenging liquidity regulatory reporting (e.g. NSFR, LCR, 2052a, and public disclosures), to ensure compliance and change management practices.
  • Independent review of stress testing and resolution assumptions and reporting
  • Driving enterprise risk assessment and reporting efforts for liquidity
  • Independently reviewing and challenging the firm liquidity metrics methodologies, including assumptions and key drivers.
  • Risk oversight of daily 2052a/LCR data and reporting
  • Support in key areas as required – contingency planning, intraday liquidity etc.
  • Partnering across Business units to support complex interpretations, trend analysis, business insights impacting firm liquidity position
  • Presenting the independent reviews to the Market and Liquidity Risk Committee
  • Assist in the development of quantitative tools as needed
  • Documenting all critical communication, standards, policies
Skills
  • 6+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas of financial services is desired: treasury, liquidity risk management,
  • Strong knowledge of financial services and good understanding of bank balance sheets and liquidity management practices.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated success challenging and influencing outcomes
  • Understanding of liquidity regulations and applying these expectations to practice (e.g. LCR, NSFR, 2052a,Stress testing)
  • Experience with Axiom, advanced analytics skills, knowledge of data quality and reporting controls, and some quantitative skills are a plus
  • Strong data, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of technical tools like SAS/Python and statistics to develop quantitative tools

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Risk Management, Mathematics, Economics/ MBA/Relevant experience in Liquidity or related fields
