Brown Brothers Harriman is currently recruiting a Manager in Alternatives Fund Servicing Team (Asset Supervision and Cash Custody). Working closely with Assistant Department Head, Manager will directly supervise experienced team leaders and their teams. As part of the duties Manager will be responsible of all aspects relating to people management like coaching, development and retention. As a member of management team, Manager will devise and participate internal and cross office projects to improve the efficiency, quality and accuracy of the department’s work.

Some of the key responsibilities include:

  • Directly managing a group of experienced leaders in team responsible to provide support on depositary related activities
  • Controlling proper workflows related to cash management and account administration, including review of the legal documentation
  • Overseeing the teams working on cash transfers, providing Client’s balances, SWIFT copies on Clients requests, funds cash flow monitoring
  • Ensuring highest quality of Client service, including phone end email services
  • Developing and maintaining excellent familiarity with applicable laws, regulations and interpretations governing depositary function (AIFMD, UCITS, CSSF Circulars, ALFI interpretations)
  • Ensuring the smooth, effective operation of the department including compliance to asset supervision, custody and banking procedures, proper product and service delivery, proper escalation, and resolution of high exposure items, maintaining the proper standards and controls
  • Leading by example in establishing a culture of providing excellent service to clients
  • Overseeing the supervision of staff members through appropriate recruiting, training, performance management, and succession planning
  • Focusing on work transformation program including technology and workflows enhancement

What we value:

  • 8+ years of professional experience (fund industry is preferred) including at least 4 on managerial position
  • Relevant experience in Custody, Funds Transfer, Depositary, Corporate Accounting for Alternative Funds is a plus
  • Primary degree in Accounting/Finance/Law or Business-related discipline
  • Understanding of various services provided to investment funds, investment structures and financial products is a plus
  • Knowledge of AIFMD / UCITS is a plus
  • Mature leader with ability to coach, develop and motivate employees
  • Strong experience in direct responsibility for managing, mentoring and coaching staff
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, both verbally and in writing
  • Computer literate with strong Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
  • Fluency in English essential and knowledge of German or French is a plus
