Financial/Management Accountant Based in Watford Salary is £55,000 plus company specific benefit
Robert Walters are proud to be partnering with a market leading Retail business based in Watford, to recruit a Financial/Management Accountant to assist the Senior Finance Manager in the day to day Financial Accounting, Reporting (Inc. US GAAP) and reconciliations. The candidate must possess a good technical knowledge of Financial Accounting and Reporting.

Robert Walters are proud to be partnering with a market leading Retail business based in Watford, to recruit a Financial/Management Accountant to assist the Senior Finance Manager in the day to day Financial Accounting, Reporting (Inc. US GAAP) and reconciliations. The candidate must possess a good technical knowledge of Financial Accounting and Reporting.
The Financial/Management Accountant's Key Responsibilities:
- Calculate and post period end journals related to prepayments and expense accruals
- Calculate and post period end journals in relation to central maintenance contracts
- Reconciliation of allocated Controllable and Non-Controllable expense accruals, quarterly true ups and updates
- Periodic reporting to US parent company using Onestream platform
- Prepare Quarterly schedules for US external reporting
- Prepare FRS 102 Statutory Accounts and supporting working papers for all UK entities
- Assist manager on other period end related activities as well as allocated ad hoc tasks. Assist other areas of the Financial Accounting department as and when necessary
- Prepare EComm trial balance each period and analyse EComm expenses allocated between Home Office and EComm
- Maintain complete sets of US GAAP ledgers and reconciliations, generate periodic journals to comply with US GAAP reporting and update Excel P&L and BS
- Complete DTI returns and maintain supporting working papers
- Balance sheets reconciliation to high standard after each period close
- Be a Qualified Accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA)
- Have a good level of technical knowledge and understanding of Financial Accounting and Reporting as well Management Accounting
- Be qualified to at least an intermediate level of Excel skills
- Be self-motivated with plenty of stamina to deliver and complete all tasks to strict reporting deadlines each period with a high degree of accuracy
- Possess a positive 'can do' attitude, driven by passion to deliver output to a high level of technical detail and accuracy
- Have an ability to approach problems from a different angle and challenge existing processes and practices
- Be a team player with ability to communicate clearly at all levels and comfortable in liaising with operational terms
- Ideally have US GAAP accounting experience - this is a bonus
