Finance manager

This role will act as a member of Finance Reporting team to review regular financial closing and reporting and ensure proper financial records are maintained and proper controls are taken in place. Deliver group and local FRS 17 reporting on a timely manner and in accordance with the relevant accounting standards and Group reporting requirements.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee the regular financial reporting process and maintain proper accounting records in accordance with the relevant accounting standards and group reporting requirements
  • Ensure group reporting are produced in an accurate and timely manner
  • Review the user requirements for complicated items such as new incentives or products. Participate in discussions and collaborate with actuarial and other teams and/or regional office on handling complex accounting issues
  • Review the internal financial control procedures and ensure the business is in fully compliance with internal governance and SoX requirements. 
  • Support in IFRS 17 implementation and enhancements Perform ad hoc task as assigned.

 

Job Requirements

  • University graduate in Accounting, Finance or relating discipline.
  • Qualified accountant with strong IFRS knowledge.
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in financial industry, insurance experience preferably.
  • Proficient in both written and spoken English and Chinese
  • Proficient in MS office and high proficiency in MS Excel
  • Knowledge in SUN Accounts
  • Knowledge in Power BI and SAS is a plus
  • Knowledge of the insurance business is a plus
  • Good communication skill to work effectively across teams/departments
  • Good Business writing
  • Ability to multi-task and be flexible in adapting to changing priorities and to work independently
  • Strong technical knowledge in controls and processes
