The Diocese of Coventry Multi Academy Trust has achieved significant successes since its incorporation and has much to be proud of. The Trust continues to grow and now has 19 Church of England academies, almost 5,000 children and 850 members of staff across the Diocese of Coventry. This scale makes it one of the 150 largest MAT's in the country and they are recruiting an ambitious Head of Finance to work closely with the Chief Executive to ensure the finances support the ambitious 2020-2023 Strategic Plan.

Your new role
This is a rare Head of Finance opportunity where you can really shape your own. As a member of the Trust's senior leadership team your role will be vital in ensuring the Chief Executive, Business & Finance Committee and the Audit & Risk Committee have complete confidence in the numbers as you will be responsible for budgeting, planning, financial year end and governance across all 19 academies. You will have a small but capable finance team, the team have started the journey to become centralised and you will ensure that process runs as smoothly as possible while also looking into the benefits of grant pooling, a single bank account and a trading company.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be a qualified accountant who is competent and proficient in overseeing all aspects of finance with a real interest in the education sector and in improving the life chances of young people. Ideally you would of worked in an organisation of similar size and complexity in a senior role. You will be able to work collaboratively with your colleagues at all levels, working together to continuously develop processes and procedures. You will have experience or evidence your capability to present complex financial information to both financial and non-financial colleagues at Board level.
