EY_ Consulting _ SOX - Staff

As part of our Consulting Enterprise Risk team, our clients look for EY's expertise across the consulting solutions and specifically for engagements related to Internal Audit, Regulatory Compliance, Internal Analytics (IA), SOX 404, Controls and Compliance (CNC), Payment Application Management System (PAMS), Construction and Real Estate Advisory Services (CREAS), Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM).

The opportunity
This is client-facing role in a rapidly growing practice, where you'll build client relationships with key stakeholders, including management executives for some of the most globally recognized brands. It makes this the perfect place to gain a deeper understanding of complex businesses transactions, all the while recommending solutions to some of the most pressing business challenges and process inefficiencies. You'll also team with our performance improvement professionals in multidisciplinary engagements, helping major global clients transform and sustain business performance. The team is focused on leveraging emerging technologies like Robotics, AI, Advanced Analytics to enhance various Internal Audit and internal control solutions being provided to the client and actively work in building multiple tools and assets for efficient and effective client delivery. Your key responsibilities

Client Leadership & Quality Delivery
  • Assist Senior, Manager or independently deliver engagements in one or more of the domains (Internal Audit, Regulatory Compliance, Internal Analytics (IA), SOX 404, Controls and Compliance, PAMS, CREAS, TPRM and ERM).
  • Technical expertise to understand related industry issues / trends and conduct Internal audits, business process re-engineering and internal control engagements for global clients across various sectors.
  • Monitoring industry news, tools and trends while suggesting potential risks, as well as opportunities to improve the way we work
  • Very strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and activities across multiple, simultaneous projects
  • Strong and thorough understanding of various business processes across different sectors to identify control gaps and assess risk
  • Perform the following roles and responsibilities which includes:
    • Assist in development of audit plans and schedules.
    • Prepare internal control risk frameworks, process flows/ narratives and review the suitability of internal control, design, and procedures (as applicable).
    • Identify internal control design, operating and system deficiencies to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of system/ procedures implemented.
    • Conduct test of design and operating effectiveness and suggest controls to improve the client's control framework.
    • Provide regular status updates on project progress, manage risk, and ensure internal/external stakeholders kept informed about progress and expected outcomes.
    • Identify process gaps and accordingly provide recommendation in areas requiring improvement based on the client's business process and industry practice.
    • Responsible for performing and reviewing the audit evidence, validating them for completeness and accuracy and documenting the workpapers as per the defined standards and quality benchmark.
    • Anticipate and identify engagement related risks and escalate issues as appropriate on a timely basis.
    • Participate or drive conversations with the clients for process understanding and conduct walkthroughs, status updates, presenting reports/ dashboards to senior management.


  • Experience and working knowledge of Construction program/ project management, cost estimation, contracts/ tendering and Procurement for CREAS
  • Monitor project progress, manage multiple assignments and related project teams, if needed
  • Meet quality guidelines within the established turnaround time (or allotted budget) for assigned requests
  • Demonstrate application and solution-based approach to problem solving while executing client engagements and documenting working papers and or audit reports


Client Management
  • Develop strong working relationships with the client and onshore EY teams
  • Maintain excellent rapport and proactive communication with the client


Market Leadership
  • Participate / support business development initiatives.
  • Support multiple innovation initiatives to enhance existing solutions leveraging emerging technologies like Robotics, AI, Advanced Analytics
  • Support the practice in developing thought leadership content and other innovation initiatives from time to time


Operational excellence
  • Suggest ideas on improving engagement productivity and identify opportunities for improving client service.
  • Manage engagement budgets and ensure compliance with engagement plans and internal quality & risk management procedures.
  • People related
  • Display teamwork, integrity and leadership. Work with team members to set goals and responsibilities for specific engagements. Foster teamwork and innovation.
  • Utilize technology & tools to continually learn and innovate, share knowledge with team members and enhance service delivery.


To qualify for the role, we are looking for:
  • 1-3 years of experience with strong academic history of a "Big 4" or professional firm or professional industry experience across one or multiple domains.
  • CA or MBA (Master's in business administration) or preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Internal Control framework, Fraud and Compliance Framework, Risk Management, US and Ind GAAP, SOX 404 Principles, COSO Framework,
  • CIA certification/ COSO/ COBIT/ Industry specific certification is preferred
  • Exceptional command on spoken and written English
  • Globally mobile and flexible to travel to onsite locations
  • Highly analytical, organized and meticulous consulting skills
  • Proficient in MS-Office Suite, data analysis & validation
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize deliverables effectively in order to achieve optimum results.
  • Responsible for the performance and appraisal of direct reports, including training and developing necessary skill sets to enable them to grow in their careers.
