An opportunity has arisen for a new Group Accountant to join a PE-backed global education company as part of a high-calibre finance team as they continue their growth strategy throughout 2023.
Client Details
Based in central London, my client is a PE-backed business services group with operations spanning across 20 countries. Established in 2013, the group has grown rapidly with revenues in excess of £500 million. The group is set for further significant expansion in the coming years.
Description
The Group Accountant will be responsible for the following:
Financial Reporting
- Review and consolidation of month end Group submissions, including P&L, Balance Sheet, Cashflow Statement, KPIs
- Review and consolidation of year end reporting packages and supporting schedules
- Preparation of Annual Group Consolidated Accounts in accordance with IFRS
- Preparation of UK holding company subsidiary accounts in accordance with FRS 101
- Operation and annual update of Transfer pricing (management fees, intracompany debt) calculations
- Key point of contact for external auditors to ensure any issues are resolved on a timely basis and year end reporting deadlines are achieved
- Ensure open communication between Head Office and local finance teams to ensure smooth month end and annual reporting and timely resolution of issues
Internal controls
- Support initiatives to ensure appropriate financial controls are in place across the Group
- Support the implementation of consistent balance sheet review and reconciliation processes and procedures across the Group
- Internal audit support, including conducting remote and on-site assignments to assess, report and recommend practical improvements to internal controls and ensure best practice is spread across the organisation
Profile
The successful Group Accountant will have the following credentials:
- Qualified Accountant (likely top 10 practice trained)
- Experience auditing a group finance function ideally in a large, global organisation
- Strong knowledge of IFRS/multi-currencies/group consolidations
- Experience within education and training/business services ideal but not essential
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, smaller head-office environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work 4 or 5 days a week from the office
Job Offer
Basic salary circa £60,000 to £65,000 (depending on experience) + discretionary bonus scheme up to 10%
