Actuarial Placement Student - 12-month Fixed Term Contract

Phoenix Group are recruiting for Actuarial Placement Students to join our team within the Actuarial Services Team. The position will be based in Wythall or Telford on a 12-month FTC basis. This vacancy represents an opportunity to join an ambitious organisation, within an ever-changing environment where you will discover the potential to perform and grow.
As an Actuarial Placement Student you'll be given the opportunity to work with multiple teams across an exciting variety of activities from projects and pricing of new deals to external reporting and business integrations. We rotate students to provide them with a more holistic view of the organisation and broader level of experience.


Key Responsibilities

- Performing high quality analysis and producing accurate output in line with reporting, pricing, or other requirements that apply.
- Ensuring work is documented to the required audit standard.
- Working collaboratively with other teams to deliver the Actuarial and Finance team objectives.
- Delivering all services to business and customers in a timely manner to meet expectations.
- Carrying out routine processes in line with documented procedures, and ensuring documented procedures are kept up to date.
- Applying actuarial judgement to propose process improvements to reduce cost, whilst improving controls and increasing service.
- Escalating risks and issues to line management in a timely manner and assisting with implementation of solution where appropriate.
- Ensuring the integrity of financial data is maintained.
- Actively supporting knowledge management and knowledge sharing within the Actuarial and Finance Departments.
- Actively participating in team meetings and workshops attended.

What We're Looking For

Key skills/experience required:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Solid mathematical aptitude.
- Awareness of Life Insurance Products.
- Ability to think analytically and should be a problem solver.
- Ability to gather and interpret relevant data and information.
- Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
- Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively to both peers and senior management.
