Project Financial Control as a Service (PFCaaS)
The continued success of our Project Financial Control team (part of the widerHCaaSoffering) means that we are looking to grow further by recruiting project finance specialists with experience in delivering transformation across all industries with the right skill set and attitude towards performance, growth and development.

Your role
Project Accountants are a team of part and fullyqualified accountantsthat sit within Deloitte's Consulting business. The team provide robust financial management for Deloitte's most commercially complex client programmes as well as direct to client services. Our financial management capability maximises value add through specialist actionable data insight and bridging the gap in expertise between project delivery teams and Finance. The team improve financial management through establishing rigorous processes and improving overall project finance governance. We are looking for individuals who can quickly integrate with our team and bring their skills, knowledge and experience to bear and add value to our work in various industries and competencies. They must be self-reliant whilst working in teams and be clear as to how they want their career to developwithin Deloitte.

Project Controller will have responsibility for:
  • Managing budgets for our client's large scale transformational programmes
  • Delivering client ready KPI reporting and dashboards and running end to end process
  • Developing financial models and analysis to influence key decision makers and project leadership
  • Providing sound financial input and robust challenge to senior stakeholders
  • Problem solving and adoptable to changing client needs
  • Collaborating with relevant stakeholders to deliver favourable commercial outcomes
  • Encouraging continuous process improvement to promote best in class reporting and analysis
  • Providing quality reviews and mentorship to junior team members (for Ms only)
  • Proactively driving your own development through access to on the job coaching and an array of training options

Location:You will be based inaDeloitteLondon, Belfast or Cardiffoffice, however travel may be required for client based projects. Whilst some clients are based in your local office city, we do spend time on site with regional and international clients. We specify full mobility for our consulting roles but we make arrangements respectfully, there may be some opportunity for working from home depending on client demands.

Work Pattern:This is a permanent role with a degree of flexibility. We do encourage careful consideration of agile ways of working, both formal and informal arrangements that allow for the best outcomes for our people and our clients.

Your professional experience
To qualify for the role you must have:
  • Qualified or Part-Qualified Accountant - ACA/ACCA/CIMA;
  • An ability to work in a pressured environment with ambitious and demanding individuals;
  • Strong financial modelling and excel skills;
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills;
  • Good commercial awareness and experience in supporting senior leadership;
  • Comfortable working with large data sets;
  • Adoptable to meet client needs;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable Requirements:
  • Experience in advising clients or having worked in a consulting environment would be preferable;
  • Experience of an accounting system (e.g. SAP) would be preferable;
  • Experience in finance or accounting environment with strong attention to detail skills;
  • Experience in a project environment, managing multiple tasks, requirements and stakeholders;
  • Able to use own initiative, to be proactive and able to identify appropriate solutions to problems;
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills and quantitative aptitude;
  • Expertise in data visualisation, PowerBI a plus;
  • VBA or other coding language skills are an advantage;
  • Willingness to travel
