The Transfer Agency department provides a third party fund administration service to numerous fund management companies covering the full range of shareholder servicing functions including transaction processing, registration, settlements, distributions, commissions and statements. The Quality Control Team is responsible for reviewing selected processed items including, but not limited to; transactions, daily tasks, periodic fund events, control reports, correspondence and other to ensure that Transfer Agency is performing at an expected service and accuracy level. The Analyst is responsible for identifying errors, corrective actions, and resolving problems within established guidelines. This role requires knowledge of Transfer Agency policies, regulations and operational procedures.

Major Duties

  1. Maintain Northern Trust’s commitment to a strong risk management culture by developing a control mindset.
  2. Quality review a wide range of processed tasks and transactions through a workflow management tool and control reports.
  3. Reject errors back to the processor for correction and provide guidance on corrective actions and reasons
  4. Identify and resolve problems within established guidelines. Escalate errors proactively for timely resolution.
  5. Contribute proactively to improve quality control management standards
  6. Establish strong quality control procedures and enhance existing procedures to improve accuracy and ensure proper/effective controls and compliance are in place
  7. Works effectively as a team member and independently

Qualifications

  • A College or University degree and/or some relevant work experience is preferred
  • Good oral and written communication skills are required
  • Analytical and Problem Solving skills
