Interim Financial Controller

This is a great position for someone with a strong understanding of the manufacturing sector and how it operates. This role is looking at the finances for two sites that are part of the wider group.

Client Details

My client are a manufacturing business that is headquartered in the South West but that also has a presence in the US. There are a group of companies that all operate independently but are still part of the wider group and this role will cover off two of these companies (one based in Cheltenham and the other one is in Wiltshire)

Description

The main responsibilities within this role:

• Ensure that the monthly management accounts - are delivered accurately and on time.
• Full and detailed balance sheet reconciliations to be included with the submission of the final management accounts.
• Provide weekly Flash results
• Supervision of all direct reports (Financial)
• Budgets / Forecasts & Reporting
• Statutory Compliance. It is essential that we comply with all the statutory requirements and meeting the reporting dates. Familiarity with VAT, Customs and Excise duty and payroll taxes is beneficial
• Provide information on cost of sales - by part, by customer to the Board to ensure correct decisions are made.
• Driver of all KPI's within the business.
• Monitor FX movement and analyse the implication on the margins. Recommend to the Board steps that should be taken to maintain GP level.
• Build relationship with suppliers to optimise payment terms.
• Monitor Debtor days and plan improvement.
• Track and monitor revenue for accuracy, verifying it against sub ledger report on a monthly basis.
• Analyse business performance / results, providing feedback to Senior Management.
• Ensure monthly accruals are adjusted to meet demands of the business.
• Ensure an accurate Cost of sales analysis in place that is a live document updated in real time

Profile

The successful candidate for the role:

• A qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
• Experience of working in a manufacturing environment
• Experience of leading small teams previously (this is a team of 3)
• Strong interpersonal skills, and effective communication both verbal and written
