Group Financial Controller

Exciting Group Finance Manager / Group Financial Controller opportunity to look after the monthly, quarterly and annual accounting for excellent Company.

You will report to the Group FD and CFO, and lead and develop a medium sized team

My client is a long established and leading local Engineering and Construction business based in Mid Kent. They have enjoyed tremendous success and now seek a strong Finance Manager / Controller to complement the team.

Description

As Group Finance Manager / Controller you will be responsible for the preparation of timely and accurate financial and management information for the Group.

This will include working to provide strategic support to the Finance Director, CFO and wider management team, whilst leading a team of staff across Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger and accounting.

Specific duties will include:

• Preparing monthly accounts and supporting working papers (Balance Sheet Reconciliations, Fixed Asset Registers, Accruals and Prepayments)
• Supporting on budget and forecast process
• Preparing VAT returns / reconciliations and submissions
• Payroll support
• Inter-company reconciliations
• Preparation of audit schedules and audit liaison
• Reporting on cashflow
• Companies house filings, ONS etc
• Systems and people development

Profile

The successful candidate is likely to be formally qualified (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) but Qualified by experience candidates with a relevant skill set and a stable career history will be considered.

• You must have a strong track record of proven attention to detail, accurate work, and a stable CV career history.
• Strong IT skills are important
• You must be a strong people manager with excellent communication skills
• CIS knowledge would be beneficial but is not essential
• This is a role which would suit somebody who is looking to have a long tenure in their next role.
• The position is based on site near Maidstone 5 days per week
