Role purpose
Lead a high performing team of Systems SME focussed on the delivery, development and lifecycle management of Assurance capabilities with the aim of driving down operating costs through the utilisation of intelligent observability and automation whilst improving customer experience across fixed and mobile.

Key responsibilities & accountabilities
  • Lead the Assurance team with passion and commitment with a goal of simplifying and automating the operations and management of the VMO2 network not just from a platform/tools perspective but also from an organisational and functional point of view driving change to the way we operate and deliver.
  • Aligned to the OSS Transformation Plan, Govern the successful delivery and development of next generation network assurance systems driving a more efficient and data driven approach to network maintenance.
  • Ensure the lifecycle management of all Assurance systems is effectively undertaken considering obsolescence and also compliance and regulatory commitments.
  • Own all systems vendor relationships (with support from partner management) to ensure the organisation drives successful partner delivery to time, cost and quality including ensuring robust contractual obligations are in place.
  • Lead and drive all assurance system procurement activities from due diligence to contract also being responsible for all systems proof of value / concept activities
  • Budget ownership and financial accountability for all Assurance related initiatives.
  • Work closely with the Transformation and Architecture function to support strategic tooling alignment to business needs and also to provide technical input into High Level Architecture and Solution Design.
  • Be the key point of contact for all Assurance tooling development requests and delivery escalation.
Essential skills, knowledge, or experience (Inc. professional or technical qualifications)
  • Experience of successfully leading technical resources to deliver transformational business benefit in the OSS space.
  • Extensive experience relating to network OSS and tools focussing on Assurance based applications, managing their installation, use, in life management and retirement.
  • In depth knowledge of Network Assurance applications including closed loop automation platforms with demonstrable experience of driving operational efficiencies. Providing
  • Experience leading & directing teams of SME's & developers to deliver against a backlog defined & agreed with customers & stakeholders
  • Broad understanding of technical architectures, delivery & operations across mobile & fixed technologies
  • Excellent knowledge on cloud operations especially observability with special emphasis on how to manage and operate Telco functions running on cloud infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of OSS and IT technology and business trends and how they can be applied to mobile networks to deliver value
  • Credible and effective communicator and influencer, able to work with stakeholder to agree, prioritise and drive forward a wide range of requirements.
