The Legal Entity Management (LEM) Support team is established in the Budapest Finance CSC to centralize LEM Support functions from countries across the EMEA region.

This role is highly analytical with broader interactions with Controllers, FP&A, Product Control, Operations and various business units in countries and region.

LEM Support is seen as critical role in providing Assurance to the Country/Regional Finance Teams. This is also critical role from overall Finance Transformation initiative to maximize the migration of activity from respective country/countries to the Finance CSCs.

The LEM Support Senior Manager is a strategic position within the finance CSC designed in partnership with Finance to provide Analytical and Assurance support to Countries\Clusters\Regional Finance and execution of Core Financial Reporting Processes.

The role offers opportunity to manage a wide range of reporting and analytical tasks, country and regional reporting and projects and is responsible for preparation and coordination of internal and external (statistical &statutory) reports for a material broker-dealer entity in Germany.

Responsibilities:

  • Governance/Results/Review
  • Support & ensure integrity and accuracy of financial reporting for German Broker Dealer acc. to German GAAP (HGB, KWG & RechKredV)
  • Supporting & implementing IFRS reporting incl. calculation and preparation of relevant adjustments.
  • Legal Entities Analysis and communication to the Country/Cluster/Regional Controllers of Actual variances on the Legal Entity and Management level financial results.
  • Execute analysis of respective entities using Standards & Non-Standard Reports
  • Approver for any exceptions, Adjustments, and final FDL/Pearl results
  • Calculation and preparation of local GAAP (later IFRS Adjustments)
  • Support the introduction of IFRS financials for German Broker Dealer
  • Establish consistent processes, effective controls and robust MCA assessments around local GAAP reporting processes.
  • Enhance controls and integrity around manual data processes and sources
  • Engage with various CSC and FRSS sites to enhance efficiencies in the reporting process 
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant internal policies
  • Lead discussion with internal and external auditors on a regular base and during ongoing audits
  • Other end to end accountability, which may evolve during the course of the role
  • Interaction
  • Participate in the Country Close (Pre, ME, Post Close Calls across stakeholder groups)
  • Interacts with Control lead/Reporting lead etc. at Country/Cluster level as part of the closing process
  • Support Local Audits Requests
  • Point of contact for Country \ Business significant issues

Experience:

  • US GAAP, German GAAP, IFRS experience is an advantage
  • 8-10 years of experience in financial auditing/ financial reporting and accounting or controlling

Skills:

  • Fluent in English, German is an advantage
  • Analytical and Financial Skills: applicant must have good understanding of the Firm's financials and ICG Product knowledge
  • Understanding of business and financial drivers for Banking and broker dealer entities
  • Communication skills: will be interacting with staff at a variety of levels, including senior audiences, on a variety of internally driven and function driven deliverables. 
  • Organizational Skills: heavy coordination with many individuals at varying levels across the region and CSC functions, operating with precision within limited time frames on deliverables. The individual must be highly organized and able to prioritize in an environment of change while always seeking to improve the organization and business.
  • Teamwork/Relationship Management: the position requires extensive teamwork, partnership and collaboration across Finance and CSC functions
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience in Citi reporting processes or Product processing group will be an added advantage.

  • Bachelor’s Degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • ACCA / Chartered accountant qualification
