We're looking for a Senior Professional within the Treasury Accounting team to provide financial accounting services and support to the wholesale market activity of Santander UK group as well as performing controls, monitoring and oversight. As a Senior Professional you will interpret and implement the policies and procedures of the Treasury Accounting department. With a thorough understanding of your area, you'll provide advice and service to other departments as well as performing key reconciliations and controls. While reporting directly to one Senior Manager, you will be expected to contribute widely to the duties of the team and to rotate between functions to broaden your knowledge and experience.The Treasury Accounting team provides services to all the main legal entities in the UK group and interacts with other key stakeholders including the individual business units, Wholesale Operations, Market & Structural Risk and other areas of the CFO division. The products covered range from debt issuance and short-term funding through to the trading of derivatives.The difference you'll make.

- Ensuring the End-to-End Control framework is in place and operating effectively to ensure completeness, accuracy and valuation of trades
- Identifying key data issues impacting overall businesses (population checks) relying on the Control Model are investigated, fixed or communicated to break owners or IT for resolution
- Monitoring governance of outsource reconciliation process to ensure various deliverables (including Nostro, Wash, Non payments, Non receipts and suspense) are reported within SLA
- Conducting regular steering meetings with break owners to discuss clearance of aged breaks
- Taking action to ensure controls are in place and adhered to for the accurate setup and maintenance of new or amended of static data
- Ensuring that there is a full audit trail and robust control infrastructure for all accounting, controls and processes within the team
- Experience and a sound knowledge of either financial instruments, wholesale operational processes, systems and data flow concepts and/or front office systems would be beneficial
- An interest in Treasury functions and Wholesale market business units from an accounting, operational or operational risk measurement and reporting perspective
- Part qualified accountant CIMA/ACCA or equivalent
- knowledge of front office booking systems as well as Microsoft products, particularly Excel.
- Some knowledge of accounting for, settlement of or risk management of financial instruments
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to work within a team or alone.
