Short Description for Internal Candidates

Senior Manager – Business Valuations (Audit Support)As a Business Valuations specialist, you will provide support to Audit Teams in the Middle East by reviewing valuations of businesses and intangible assets across a wide range of industries prepared by Management (or third-party valuation professionals retained by Management) for financial reporting purposes. You will also provide assurance that valuation estimates reported in financial statements are reasonable, well supported by market data and aligned with the requisite Accounting Standards.

Senior Manager – Business Valuations (Audit Support)

As a Business Valuations specialist, you will provide support to Audit Teams in the Middle East by reviewing valuations of businesses and intangible assets across a wide range of industries prepared by Management (or third-party valuation professionals retained by Management) for financial reporting purposes. You will also provide assurance that valuation estimates reported in financial statements are reasonable, well supported by market data and aligned with the requisite Accounting Standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Take on full ownership and responsibility for delivering valuation review engagements.
  • Act as project manager and work closely with Audit Teams to review valuations and supporting information provided by our Clients.
  • Review the appropriateness of valuation methodologies and underlying assumptions.
  • Help audit teams to robustly challenge management’s key assumptions and judgements with an appropriate level of professional skepticism.
  • Perform market research on transactions, industries, and financial information.
  • Develop financial models for assessing key financial drivers for conducting valuations and sensitivities.
  • Engage with Management and Audit Teams to resolve any issues identified.
  • Reporting findings in a clear and concise manner, documenting review procedures performed and market evidence to support the conclusion on valuations.
  • Coaching team members in technical valuation skills and industry knowledge to ensure the highest level of service delivery.

Education and Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree or MBA specializing in Finance or Accounting.
  • CFA charter holder and member of the CFA Institute preferred.
  • Must have a professional accounting qualification (e.g. CPA, CA, ACCA).

Experience:

  • 10+ years’ experience in the valuation of businesses and intangible assets, preferably in a Big-4 audit firm.
  • Excellent financial modelling skills
  • Ability to use Capital IQ and Bloomberg
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
