The Financial Services division, led by the Group CFO, partners with all areas of the Commonwealth Bank to provide financial control function and specialist advice on financial management and strategy. This advice covers finance, audit, treasury, investor relations, security and property.

The Technology division delivers the Group’s information technology function to ensure the highest levels of customer service through world-class process excellence and technology innovation.

You will be part of the Forecasting, Planning & Analysis team (FP&A) within Technology Finance. The FP&A team provides financial information, analysis and advice to both Technology and Group Finance, and is responsible for the delivery of annual business plans, monthly forecasts and financial modelling and advice to drive Technology’s performance and strategy.

This role requires someone who has excellent problem-solving skills and a can-do positive attitude. The successful candidate will be a team-player with strong communication skills and attention to detail.

The scope of the role covers the breadth of Technology ~10,000 FTE and ~$2bn cost base.

Your Responsibilities

The role has responsibility for delivering all BAU activities in an efficient and reliable manner and contributing to a strong team culture. A key component of the role will be a focus on driving continuous improvement and the delivery of high quality forecast outputs and analysis across the IT estate.

BAU activities include:

• Supporting the end-to-end co-ordination and delivery of the Technology annual business plan and monthly forecasts, including supporting analysis and insight, with a focus on accuracy, timeliness and commercial relevance;
• Deep dive analysis of key business drivers to drive Technology performance and strategy;
• Supporting the preparation and delivery of high quality presentations and supporting analysis / insight for senior management (CEO, CFO, Technology Group Executive & Head of Strategy);
• Financial modelling and analysis of both investment and operational opportunities to assist decision making.

Change and improvement activities include:

• Driving continuous improvement of forecast processes; and
• Contributing to the enhancement of driver based analytics and cost transparency within forecasting and reporting.

• Strong accounting and financial skills
• Strong financial modelling and analytical skills
• Knowledge of the financial services and / or technology industry, including technology developments that are impacting Financial Services
• CA/CPA/CFA qualified
• 5 + years of experience
• Commercial finance experience, ideally within a large corporate in Financial Services and/or Technology
• Experience with Alteryx/ SQL (not required but preferred)
• Broad stakeholder engagement skills
