An exciting opportunity for a qualified accountant to join a European Bank as a Financial Accountant. This role will suit someone with at least 2-3 years post qualified experience in a financial reporting role with a strong knowledge in IFRS. POSITION
We are looking for a qualified accountant to join our Accounts team. The accounts department is comprised of 5 people and their duties encompass regulatory, statutory and management reporting. In addition, the team is responsible for preparation and review of annual audited accountant and for the UK Subsidiary.
The department also plays a significant role in systems development, particularly with our IBIS core system and centralised Group reporting tools, and we expect this area of responsibility to grow over the coming years.
DUTIES
• Prepare financial statements for UK subsidiary, arrange and run audit. This will involve liaising with internal teams and the auditors
• Prepare financial forecasts
• Assist with process efficiency initiatives
• Assist in the development of key financial internal controls
• Assist in the development of new systems as required
• Investigate and correct errors within system to improve data quality
• Liaise with Group Financial reporting to ensure timely delivery of information
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
• ACA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification, and ideally Big 4 trained (latter desired but not essential)
• 2-3 years post qualified experience in financial reporting or a similar role
• Good understanding of IFRS accounting standards
• Be able to multi-task and prioritise their tasks
• Be able to work effectively on their own and manage their own deadlines
• Be conscientious and produce work to a consistently high standard whilst meeting deadlines
• Have good interpersonal skills and work effectively within a team
• Experience with establishing, documenting and developing processes, i.e high process maturity
• Have strong attention to detail
QUALIFICATIONS
• Strongly proficient with Microsoft Excel
• Systems experience: IBIS, SAP - preferable but not essential
• Qualified: ACCA , ACA or equivalent
