Job Description

 

The Legal Entity Control team is responsible for financial oversight of their legal entity, and is tasked with ensuring that a strong control environment exists as it relates to all businesses, products and operational areas that impact the Legal Entity financials and regulatory reporting of the firm.

 

This role provides an opportunity to interact with multiple lines of business and internal stakeholders while learning legal entity controllership end-to-end.  The Associate will liaise with the line of business finance teams, operations and the Legal Entity Controller community to drive the Legal Entity agenda. 

Opportunity

  • Ensure integrity and high quality of entity level financial statements in accordance with US GAAPs
  • Monthly review and analysis of US GAAP financial reporting
  • Support the yearly planning and quarterly forecasting process on legal entity and lines of business level based on US-GAAP and IFRS
  • Support the Month end & Quarter end close process within corporate deadlines, including tasks like FX trade out, bookings, reconciliation, Intercompany breaks and finance related activities
  • Preparation of Standalone US regulatory reporting to the Federal Reserve Bank.
  • Liaise with colleagues across J.P. Morgan lines of business, both internally and internationally with other departments in the bank including Product Control, Financial Control, Corporate, Tax.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience in an accounting/finance environment in the banking industry.
  • Business fluency in German and English.
  • Attention to detail and time management are essential skills for this role. In addition, the candidate should have the flexibility required to work in a dynamic environment under tight deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and proactive - Ability to run with issues, get involved and be hands-on
  • Proficient in MS applications - Excel, Power Point, Word
