We’re BDO. An accountancy and business advisory firm, providing the advice and solutions businesses need to navigate today’s changing world.

We’ll broaden your horizons

Working hard and working together, our capital allowance team thrives on keeping busy. Friendly, driven and diverse, we are a national team serving clients both across the country and around the world. We provide expertise in this specialist area of tax, working and collaborating across BDO to deliver wider business solutions. From meeting clients’ evolving business needs to managing changes to legislation, there are always fresh challenges to face in the team. If you’re after a career that will keep you on your toes, we’ll give you the autonomy to drive your career forward.

We’ll help you succeed

You will be responsible for assisting in the management of day-to-day analysis and production of capital allowances and land remediation relief claims and advice for a range of clients, supported by junior associates within the team. You’ll also be involved in supporting tax partners, directors and managers across the team and across wider tax with proposals and pitching for capital allowances advisory work, as well as supporting on wider tax due diligence and transaction exercises for our clients.

The role provides an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to develop their technical, commercial and client relationship skills in a supportive and collaborative environment, working with colleagues who are recognised as experts in the sector.

Our client base will provide you with a fantastic opportunity to work on a challenging and varied portfolio. BDO supports all kinds of different businesses in different sectors across the UK and around the world. You’ll be providing capital allowances and land remediation relief advisory services to some of the largest FTSE listed real estate investors and REITs, from start-ups to internationally recognised restauranteurs and hoteliers, premier league football clubs as well as renewable energy investments such as offshore wind farm projects.

Key to the role is for the individual to be able to pro-actively manage their own workload, communicating with clients, managers, directors and partners on a regular basis. Furthermore, you will be given the autonomy to identify and pursue opportunities to develop new work.

When you join us, we’ll make your growth our priority. In our expanding team there are excellent opportunities for rapid progression and if you can demonstrate the following skills, we can help you go far. We’re ideally looking for someone with:

  • Experience of providing capital allowances advisory and valuation services (1 – 3 years)
  • Ideally MRICS/ATT/CTA/ACCA qualified or suitably experienced within the industry;
  • A keen interest to develop further and progress your career in capital allowances;

  • Excellent communication and written skills to ensure they are an effective first point of contact for their projects by both clients and internally by collegues;
  • A desire and ability to highlight and actively seek opportunities for developing new clients and for selling new services to existing clients.

Above all, we are looking for individuals who enjoy their work, enjoy building relationships and in providing clients with good, quality work and service. The above experience is ideal, but we will support the right candidate with coaching and development where required, to ensure they develop and flourish in their career at BDO.
