Primary purpose is to ensure an appropriate level of governance, ownership and accountability for US Reporting in EMEA. The EMEA US Reporting team supports EMEA Institutional Clients Group (ICG) and Private Bank & Wealth Management (PBWM) products by:

  • Ensuring completeness, accuracy and integrity of EMEA ICG US GAAP financial results
  • Owning governance around US Reporting activities
  • Providing analytical capability to support validation and insight into EMEA US results
  • Supporting global Books & Records team in improving the US Reporting processes and controls and promoting best practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate EMEA US Reporting governance activities in the cluster (e.g. month end calls) and act as an escalation point
  • Provide cluster status updates and manage the interaction with the countries and LEMs / Controllers in the cluster
  • Assist in reviewing US financial results (income statement, balance sheet, key ratios, US Regulatory reports) across businesses at the regional level leveraging information and analysis produced by Finance and Risk Share Services (FRSS)
  • Communicate and enforce standard policies, requirements, procedures and controls
  • Implement the gold copy Country Controller PRC and proactively contribute inputs and feedback to the Regional Controller team to maintain it up to date
  • Implement new global reporting / regulatory requirements eg ASC 606, Core Capabilities
  • Coordinate the legal entity management activities in the cluster (inc. CLEMS, legal entity rationalization)
  • Drive execution of relevant country or regional initiatives
  • Lead the implementation of US Reporting global initiatives to drive the Controller / FRSS groups towards common processes and service delivery models
  • Partner with FRSS in the execution of offshoring opportunities
  • Champion change and deliver productivity and efficiency gains through simplifying processes
  • Support CEP Cluster Controller and Regional Controllers with tasks and initiatives that are regional in scope
  • Develop strong working relationships with all FRSS teams supporting EMEA Controllers
  • Deepen understanding of the drivers of financial performance of main ICG & PBWM businesses
  • Improve ability to produce insightful analysis and maintain strong control environment
  • Develop local and remote people management, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Significant interaction with other areas of Finance (i.e. FPA, Product Controllers, FRSS) and the Business will enhance network and personal effectiveness

Qualifications:

  • Strong Finance professional, with a number of years experience in the Controllers organization within Citi or within the Financial Industry and/or audit
  • Good knowledge of US GAAP and US Regulatory Reporting; Regulatory trends and future requirements
  • Ability to present and influence across organization level and functions
  • Ability to translate strategy into execution
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent, would be beneficial

This role is advertised in Dublin but we will consider candidates from across our EMEA locations. Role could be performed in an EMEA country or in Budapest CSC.
