We are looking for someone like this to:
- lead a team responsible for the development and execution of workout plans for a wide variety of distressed credit exposures in UBS Investment Bank's banking portfolio
- lead due diligence and fundamental credit analysis to formulate independent risk management recommendations to senior credit risk and front office management
- engage with internal and external stakeholders and advisors to protect UBS's balance sheet by achieving an optimal resolution for underperforming credit exposures
- negotiate, structure and execute restructuring and recapitalization transactions in a manner that is consistent with UBS's risk appetite and regulatory expectations

- develop and mentor junior talent and create a rewarding team culture.

Your team
The Impaired Asset Management (IAM) team is an independent function within Risk Control responsible for the risk management and resolution of distressed credit exposures arising in the Investment Bank's Global Banking portfolio, with a focus on leveraged finance transactions. Working closely with colleagues across the firm, the team develops and executes restructuring and recovery strategies for non-performing loans and identifies other monetization opportunities for underperforming exposures. The team monitors business, financial, and industry developments to assess performance and conduct fundamental credit and valuation analysis to guide recovery expectations and inform strategy. IAM has an important role in identifying and reporting credit losses in line with accounting standards and regulatory expectations. The team is located in UBS's New York office in the US and reports to the firm's Global Head of Commercial Lending Risk.
