THE BUSINESS

May Figures, an AAB Group company, is a Tax Consultancy specialising in the area of R&D Tax Credits and the Patent Box Tax Relief Scheme. We prepare detailed technical analyses of research and development projects across all spectrums of science and engineering, and as such employ engineers, accountants and tax advisers.

The environment is supportive and friendly, but also intellectually stimulating with focus on delivery of unparalleled service to clients. The team work remotely from home offices but there is also the opportunity to be office based within the AAB nationwide offices in Aberdeen, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Leeds or London. We communicate and interact through an online communications channel with twice weekly full team zoom meetings.

THE ROLE

Corporate Tax Senior Manager (R&D Tax Credits)

Remote/Hybrid

We are looking to hire a Senior Corporate Tax Manager (R&D Tax Credits) with a hands-on approach to:

• Prepare and review corporation tax returns incorporating SME & RDEC claims and supporting schedules

• Prepare and review R&D Tax Credit claim financial calculations

• Manage a small team of part qualified accountants / accounting technicians in preparing accounts and R&D Tax Credit claims

• Take ownership and responsibility for delivery of all aspects of client work from start to finish, in relation to any tax support required

Reporting direct to the Managing Director, you will be:

• A qualified accountant or chartered tax advisor with R&D experience

• Able to build strong client relationships and be comfortable dealing with clients and colleagues based in external virtual offices across the UK

• Focussed, hard working, attentive and diligent

• Able to deliver the team’s work to deadline

Experience and skill set required for the role:

• Excellent Excel skills including pivot tables & VLookup tables

• Digita Accounts Production & Corporation Tax is preferred • Xero, QuickBooks, Sage is beneficial but not essential

• Experience of Innovation incentives (R&D Tax, Patent Box) is preferred, however training can be provided.

The post is a full-time role but flexible working will be considered.
