We're currently recruiting for an Accountant to join our team within Fund Accounting to provide professional accountancy and regulatory advice across all business processes to ensure the organisation meets its regulatory, reputational and commercial requirements.
Job Type: FTC 12 months
Location: Wythall, Birmingham
Salary: £45k-£50k depending on experience, plus 16-32% bonus, 38 days holiday, 10% pension

Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical accounting and regulatory reporting support across the team, department and business to contribute to a compliant end to end financial reporting process.
- Monitor the technical accounting and regulatory reporting environment for impacts on Phoenix Life's financial reporting.
- Manage technical issues across the department, liaising with key stakeholders such as Group Finance, Finance Technical Committee and External Auditors to bring issues to a timely and satisfactory conclusion.
- Produce high quality papers providing sound analysis and recommendations fit for all levels of stakeholder/governance
- Produce quality departmental updates to Boards on behalf of Life Finance by co-ordinating the relevant inputs, coordinating suppliers and contributing to the review process.
- Co-ordinate the relevant inputs, suppliers and ensuring compliance with appropriate regulations to oversee Solvency II Narrative Reporting
- Support the technical accounting needs of business change projects and external developments such as IFRS 17.
- Co-ordinate KPI, KRI, risk and control reporting across the Financial Reporting team.
- Apply TCF principles throughout all deliverables.
- Participate in internal discussions and groups as required in order to promote finance interests and work closely with stakeholders across the business
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Part Qualied / Qualified Accountant.
- A track record of producing sound technical accounting analysis.
- Able to communicate confidently, asserting influence at all levels and across functions.
- Ability to communicate with other areas of the business and able to present information requests and financial data in an easily understandable manner.
- Excellent organisational ability.
- Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
Desirable
- Experience of Life Company Accounting and Reporting.
- Experience of Solvency II Reporting
