The Personal Insurance (PI) Administrator will be primarily responsible for the completion of general insurance administration, processing tasks and dealing with clients at reception when cover is needed. This is an entry level position within the General Insurance department, one which provides an ideal opportunity to individuals looking to carve out a future in financial services. The role holder will be supported and coached to enable them to excel in terms of their own contribution and encouraged to take on more complex processing tasks as they develop within the team.

Accountabilities of the Role

  • Completion of new business set ups within the department, maintaining new business logs/ reports and following up on cases where required
  • Liaising with the sales teams to ensure compliant payment of new business set-ups where agents are unable to take payments over the phone
  • Monitoring all policies where documentation is outstanding, issuing reminder letters and sending for cancellation, if required documentation is not received within agreed timelines
  • Acting as a support function for the 'My Cornmarket App' via different communication channels; email, inbound/ outbound calls and webchat, as appropriate
  • Calling customers following up on documentation queries, new business set up queries, app queries and for ad hoc queries as required
  • Completion of daily printing for certificates, renewals, new business, mid term alternations and renewal documentation
  • Maintaining the printing log
  • Issuing supporting documents for new business, renewals and existing business
  • Completion of purchase orders for the department
  • Managing unpaid direct debit process and escalating issues as they arise
  • Processing client and insurance company requests received in daily post
  • Providing assistance to customers who call into the office with queries surrounding their motor or home insurance policies
  • Managing team inboxes, ensuring all requests are processed, responded and issued efficiently
  • Providing switch / reception cover where necessary
  • Completion of ad-hoc tasks within the PI Admin department where required
  • Complying with risk control and regulatory requirements that is relevant to this role and the Personal Insurance department as a whole
  • Maintaining commercial awareness of administration processes relevant to this role

Skills & Knowledge Required
  • APA Qualification desired however assistance will be given for this qualification to be secured within the timeframes outlined by the Central Bank and Financial Regulator
  • Previous administration or customer service experience necessary
  • Proven track record meeting deadlines or targets
  • Excellent PC skills - working knowledge of Microsoft excel and Microsoft word essential
  • The ability to present written / verbal information in a professional, clear & concise manner
  • Knowledge of risk control & regulatory environment
  • Commercial awareness of renewals desired

Controlled Function

This role is a 'controlled function' as defined by the Central Bank Reform Act 2010 Regulations 2011. Any appointment will be conditional on the company being satisfied that the appointee meets the requirements as set out in the Fitness and Probity standards issued by the Central Bank. This requires the company to complete prescribed due diligence to assess the appointee's fitness and probity.
