What will you be doing?

The responsibilities listed are the core responsibilities in relation to this role. From time to time the role holder may be called upon to take on additional responsibilities as required to meet the objectives of their division and of the wider organisation.

  • Act as a contact for the Statutory Auditors, Tax authorities and the MSEHSE Group Finance Divisions interactions with them
  • Interact and support the MSEHSE Group Internal Audit function in relations to ISG Finance and Valuation Control related reviews
  • Work with MSEHSE BU and Infrastructure/ Support heads to formulate and/or validate budgets and forecasts and work with business Units to review and understand financial performance against set targets and drive accountability for risk management, expense management valuations, internal controls and governance pertaining to the MSEHSE Group
  • Report, review and analyze divisional and consolidated net revenue, and contribute to controlling the daily and month-end close process.
  • Advise the MSEHSE Group on changes to applicable laws, rules regulations and standards as they relate to the activities and responsibilities of the MSEHSE Group Finance Division, including any potential impact on of these changes to the MSEHSE Group activities
Systems and Controls
  • Develop and maintain robust systems and records to meet financial accounting requirements.
  • Identify key risks and/or challenges associated with delivering the MSEHSE Finance division's objectives.
  • Ensure adherence to Morgan Stanley Group's policies and procedures and, where applicable, those specific to the MSESE Group including but not limited to the following Function-specific policies and procedures:
  • Financial Control Group Month End Close Policy
  • 3Rs User Policy
  • ISG Business Unit Structure / Financial Allocation Change Approval Procedures
  • ISG Finance Daily Revenue Sign Off and Attribution Policy
  • New Product Approval Policy
  • Operational Risk Internal Incident Collection Procedure - Global Finance Division
  • Trader Mandate Exception management Policy
  • MSEHSE Market Conformity Procedures & Policy
Leadership and Management
  • Promote an appropriate culture and standards amongst MSEHSE Finance Division staff and across MSEHSE Group, including in relation to the fair treatment of the MSEHSE Group's customers and preserving market integrity
  • Ensure that team members receive appropriate training on Firm policies and procedures applicable to their activities;
  • Promote professional development and continuous improvement amongst staff within the MSEHSE Finance Division
Client and Stakeholder Relationships
  • Establish constructive relationships within the Firm (in particular, promoting appropriate interaction within the Finance Division with relevant Support and Control Functions) and facilitate the Business' / Group's efforts to work collaboratively;
  • Communicate in a manner consistent with the Firm's culture, values and ethics; and provide for the protection of the Firm's reputation.

Qualifications

Skills that will help you in the role:

  • Strong academic background including a Graduation in Commerce, specialization in Financial Accounting.
  • Prior Business Unit/ Product control experience with knowledge of financial products is preferable.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines.

Skills desired

  • Chartered Accountant or equivalent specialization in Finance stream.
  • Sound understanding and knowledge of Accounting and Capital Markets.
  • Understanding of Financial product / Trading Products knowledge, Greek attribution and Corporate Actions would be an advantage.
