The Position:

The Business Analyst role will require Project and Change management experience and will help deliver Business change across multiple Projects that will empower our Business and delight our customers.

The primary focus of this role will be to work with key stakeholders at all levels across a breadth of Business and Technology functions. With a natural analytical way of thinking you will be able to explain difficult concepts to non-technical users. You will have significant experience articulating Business complexity in the form of Business processes and requirements;and will be responsible for specifying, validating and analyzing Business needs.

This will include but not limited to, conducting GAP & options analysis, ability to produce supporting artefacts that help articulate the problem such as scenarios, process flows, problem statements and sequence diagrams to assist in the wider understanding of the delivery. Using your proactive and solution-oriented mindset, you will collaborate with Business project stakeholders drawing in the relevant SMEs as required as well as work in collaboration with Technical BSA's and scrum teams.

You will deliver change by supporting the Business through testing implementation and all Business readiness activity. You may, from time to time be asked to support additional activities relating to a deliverable including the generation of content for training.

The Business analyst will be required to facilitate key meetings/workshops ensuring detailed minutes, decisions, actions with owners are successfully documented ensuring traceability and auditability. You may from time to time be asked to develop content and participate in Steering committees. The role will include working across the Europe and Global Segment Lines of Business (LoB's) to ensure alignment and efficiencies within delivery, plus share risks, issues, analysis outcomes and best practices.

You will have a good understanding of Waterfall and Agile methodologies, as well being well versed in Business Analyst practices .

The role is hybrid (home/office) working and you will report to the Senior Project or Programme Manager

Main Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Plan and lead the requirement analysis, working closely with the Business stakeholders and Programme/Project Manager
  • Analyze Business and user needs, document requirements and Business process flows as related to the project
  • Supports the analysis of obtained data to identify solutions, trends, opportunities and issues
  • Build an extensive knowledge of the Business operation in order to analyse current work procedures and practices.
  • Communicate with systems analysts to explain Business requirements. Will participate in some systems analysis design sessions to ensure Technology solutions meet Business needs
  • Collaborate with Business and Technology partners in order to achieve future optimal design
  • Lead Business partners in developing user acceptance test approach and test cases
  • Investigate, evaluate and report alternative solutions to Business needs and recommend the preferred solutions
Experience/Qualifications Required:

The suitable candidate must have strong experience in the following areas:
  • Prior experience as a Business Analyst working in small to medium sized projects
  • Ability to demonstrate awareness of Project management techniques, methodologies & lifecycle and show in-depth knowledge of industry standard Business Analyst techniques including process modelling, root cause analysis, use case models, change control and traceability management
  • Experience and understanding of delivering Business & Technology Project and supporting Programmes in an Agile framework (e.g. SAFe, Scrum), as well as the use of JIRA / ADO boards would be beneficial.
  • Proven planning, problem solving skills, organisational and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts. Bi-lingual is a nice to have but not essential for this role
  • Strong negotiation, influencing and excellent communication skills are a must have to effectively interact with Business and Technology stakeholders at all levels
  • The ability to demonstrate skill and experience in the review and interpreting of complex policy and procedures and Business requirements
  • Experience in managing Business Readiness
  • Experienced in the analysis and interpretation of Business requirements and or data across all aspects of transacting insurance or financial services Business
  • Disciplined in the management of RAID, change, defect tracking and reporting
  • Demonstrate a proven understanding of Business process re-engineering.
  • Must be a self-starter who is able to plan and lead work sessions with little oversight
  • High level of competency using Microsoft Office applications as well as Microsoft Project and visio
  • Ability to travel up to 25% internationally (if and when applicable)
  • Desirable - BCS foundation certificate in Business Analysis
