Our partner, a humanitarian organisation is working on peace building and conflict resolution. As a result of a period of growth and on the back of consideration how to structure and staff the finance function, they are seeking an interim finance partner to oversee the financial management of their commercial contracts.
Responsibilities
- Develop processes and systems that enable proper management of commercial contracts, from developing bids for proposals and proper finance processing systems to compliance & reporting.
- Establish and maintain a strong control environment, and oversight of financial processing in the overseas offices.
- Oversee the implementation of cost recovery policies.
- Oversee reporting on commercial contracts, working with teams in the UK and overseas offices.
- Support the UK team in understanding and addressing the financial needs created by the contracts, undertaking analysis and offering strategic advice as required.
- Support the annual budgeting and financial planning process.
- Design and deliver financial training to colleagues in the UK and overseas.
Requirements
- Qualified accountant with significant demonstrable experience in managing commercial contracts within an international not for profits. This includes developing budgets for bids, processes and systems, monitoring and reporting.
- Demonstrable experience of working as a business partner, supporting finance and non-finance staff in the UK as well as overseas.
- Experience of financial management – budgeting, cashflow forecasting and undertaking analysis.
- Strong IT and systems skills
- Able to work in an environment where change is taking place, and handle a varied and high volume workload.
This is a 3-6 month FTC, immediate start is preferred. This is a UK-based role, with the individual expected to be office-based in London 2 days/week.
