Our client are a rapidly growing accounting and financial planning firm based in Melbourne. Their aim is to help small businesses succeed as well as meet compliance obligations.

Reporting to a team of Accounting Managers, you will be working with Managers in reviewing and completing accounting jobs to present to clients.

What you’ll do

• Supporting clients with tax related queries including individuals and businesses, this includes tax compliance, cash flow forecasting, tax advice and wealth management
• Supervising accounting staff
• Reconciling sub-ledger to general ledger account balances
• Preparing financial statements
• Assessing internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas
• Performing monthly balance sheet, income statement and changes in financial position/budget variance analyses
• Assisting in the design and preparation of budgets for review by management
• Maintaining and reconciling fixed assets schedules
• Providing support to Managers and client meetings
• Ensure turnaround times and deadlines are appropriately managed

What you’ll need

• Experience in aspects of accounting, taxation and compliance
• Degree qualification and CA or CPA qualified
• Demonstrated technical expertise in accounting software
• Provide positive contributions, motivate the team, and put the team goals ahead of personal goals
• Commitment to working within clearly defined business processes
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
