What can you expect?

  • The MMC Financial Reporting Manager, is part of the UK/I Central team that supports the region’s Controllers organisation to operate in a smooth, efficient and effective manner. 
  • This role has a wide- ranging brief covering technical, planning, reporting, advisory, organizational and project related activities.
  • Key activities include: information consolidation; ensuring financial and management reporting accuracy; acting as a champion of process, policy and controls compliance; ensuring full preparation organization and on time delivery of technical and other material for monthly corporate submissions, and other operational meetings and interactions; coordination and delivery resource on key strategic projects designed to support the delivery of a high performing Elite Controllership team.

We will count on you to:

 

  • Oversee and take responsibility for the planning and co-ordination of meetings and interactions in order to deliver Pre-Flash, Flash reporting, Balance sheet schedules and Balance sheet decks in a timely manner.
  • Be responsible for preparing smart-view reports for the UK and Ireland teams as and when required also assist with technical issues on HFM reports
  • Assist Accounting Operations with FLINK loads and ensure issues are resolved promptly.
  • Be responsible for the review, co-ordination and calculations of lease reserves.  Attend regular meetings with property FP&A and Real estates to discuss changes in leases assumptions. In conjunction with accounting operations resolve any month end leasing issues that arise in tagetik.
  • Be the main reviewer and approver for UK and Ireland monthly leases in tagetik system
  • Review of monthly Controllership UK & Ireland P&L
  • Co-ordination, consolidation and review of Mercer UK & Ireland Accounts receivable historical run rate (HRR).
  • Monthly preparation and review of Mercer UK & Ireland Work in Progress (WIP) historical run rate (HRR) as well as attending monthly calls with Controller and FPA to discuss WIP provisions.  Preparation of the WIP HRR quarterly memo for review and submission to Global Central team.
  • Be responsible for Mercer UK and MMC Transfer pricing recharges, calculations, review and ensuring appropriate instructions and backup are provided to the Accounting Operations team to raise invoices timely.  In addition, support the Transfer pricing team with transfer pricing queries from external tax auditors
  • Review and preparation of Cost to Obtain (CTO) entries as well as review any new sales plans to determine if this meets the criteria for CTO treatment.
  • Involvement in the testing of upgraded and new financial systems as well as other ad-hoc projects.
  • Co-ordination of Global Central team monthly and quarterly communication, ensuring this is directed to the correct teams to deal with in a timely manner.
  • Liaise with Sox’s team walkthroughs for the Flash and WIP processes as well as address external auditors’ queries during the quarter ends and at year end.

What you need to have: 

  • Accountancy qualifications, ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified or equivalent
  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with colleagues in a fast moving professional team environment
  • Ability to manage and produce high quality work efficiently
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Strong financial and analytical skills
  • Meticulous eye for detail
  • Proficiency in Oracle and Hyperion Financial Management as well as Microsoft Office Applications
