The Company

The local CPA public practice accounting firm is seeking the support of multiple assistant accountant interns to join their team on a six months basis. The role is based in the company, which is located in all capital cities across Australia.

The Role

Before the internship, our Partners /Senior Accountants (CPA/CFA) will provide you with a range of full function training to make sure you can work efficiently under local CPA Australia / TPB (Tax Practitioner Board) / ATO requirements, for you to start your local accounting working experience. Please note that our staff has already done all work and the program is designed to provide trainees the opportunity to accumulate practical experience working through our internal accounts.

Under the supervising of the experienced accountants, you will not only demonstrate high-level Accounting aptitude, but also have a great experience to work in a CPA Public Practice accounting firm.

Our Internship Program complies with the requirements of the Fair Work Ombudsman.

This Assistant Accountant Internship position is an excellent opportunity for young professionals to gain hands on skills and experience in a local accounting firm.

Duties include
  • Bookkeeping including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable
  • Bank and Credit Card Reconciliations
  • Preparation of BAS statement
  • Process simple payroll
  • Maintain fixed asset register and review inventory stock control
  • Preparation of annual budgets and quarterly management reporting
  • Process month-end and year-end journals
  • Other administrative duties as directed

The successful candidate must have an accounting degree or in the second/final year, with excellent verbal & written communication skills, strong analytical and advance excel skills, give great time management skills, and ability to multitask and prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
