A hidden treasure, in the heart of the West Midlands! There’s no better place to make a difference than North Warwickshire.

Covering one of the most beautiful parts of the country, with thriving villages, market towns, hamlets and a host of heritage attractions, North Warwickshire has a lot to offer. There are excellent transport links with the M6, M42 and A5 all passing through the borough and regular train service from Atherstone to London.

At North Warwickshire Borough Council, we’re on an exciting journey of growth and transformation. We’re innovating across a range of services, with a focus on delivering great life prospects for our residents. We are committed to delivering our local plan ambitions and developing digital solutions to deliver services, all of which provide an exciting opportunity to join us to enhance our reputation as the partner of choice locally and the source of responsive support for our residents.

Due to the retirement of the current postholder, this is an exciting time for a new Corporate Director to bring fresh ideas to the council, who can look at things differently, which continue to offer best value to the residents of the borough.

North Warwickshire is a great place to work, our people are passionate and committed to delivering excellent services. They enjoy what they do, they work as a team, have positive and productive relationships with Members and make an impact, which is why they stay!

As the Corporate Director of Resources and S151 Officer you will champion and oversee the delivery of Finance, Revenues and Benefits, Customer Services, Audit and Human Resources. You’ll influence and shape the future direction of the Council, lead new service delivery models, including the development of our new ways of working agenda and collaborating with the workforce to create our new Council Values. We need someone who can think creatively, consider the risks but keep the Council safe.

You’ll lead on how resources will be allocated and prioritised across the Council, making sure budget and spending is used to make the biggest impact.

We need someone who can think strategically, can deputise for the Chief Executive, is not afraid to roll their sleeves up and experienced in transforming services. We are looking for an innovative Corporate Director, who knows how to set direction and purpose, inspires in the way they lead and has a presence which motivates and challenges.

We are keen to attract candidates from within and outside the area. We work flexibly and are happy for you to commute into the office to maximise your productivity and job satisfaction. Whether you are an experienced candidate, or if you are looking to step-up, you will be fully supported every step of the way to be a success.
