We are recruiting for a Head of Risk Assurance to join our Risk and Governance team within our Heritage Customer Division. Reporting into the Head of Risk and Governance, the role involves leading a teams of Customer Risk and Assurance Managers in the Heritage Customer function to promote informed decision making and controlled risk-taking that improves customer outcomes and delivers long term value for shareholders.

Salary: Up to £80k depending on experience + excellent benefits such as private medical insurance, 38 days' annual leave, 10% pension employer contribution (matching a further 2%) and lots, lots more!

The role
We are recruiting for a Head of Risk Assurance to join our Risk and Governance team within our Heritage Customer Division. Reporting into the Head of Risk and Governance. The role involves leading a teams of Customer Risk and Assurance Managers in the Heritage Customer function to promote informed decision making and controlled risk-taking that improves customer outcomes and delivers long term value for shareholders.
You will be responsible for the oversight and support of the implementation of the Group's Risk Management Framework within the function, reporting to SMFs and the Board on key risks and the effectiveness of risk management and compliance in respect of heritage customers. You will be required promote a strong risk culture and support the division in delivery of their reasonable steps framework, ensuring that the function is provided with support and independent challenge to secure good customer outcomes. The role holder will also responsible for ensuring all risk and control accountabilities are executed effectively and efficiently. You will need to have strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills within the function, and provide representation for the business on group led risk and governance activities.

What are we looking for?
- Risk awareness & understanding of complex legacy platforms and products delivered through multiple Outsource Providers across multiple locations both nationally and internationally
- Ability to respond to large portfolios of strategic change delivery and transformation actifvity, undestand risk impacts and provide relevant support and challenge.
- Building close working relationships, gaining credibility and an appropriate level of influence both with internal function leaders (to support recommendations) but also with the wider 3LOD community both within Phoenix Group and at OSPs in order to build a best practice model.

- Maintaining an understanding of complex and differing contractual relationships/SLAs and ambition/objectives with Business Units, Value centres, Strategic Partners and Outsource Service Providers.
- Lead and develop qualified senior Customer Service and Assurance professionals to ensure the potential of each is individually and collectively recognised
- Continuously maintaining and developing technical knowledge and awareness of the wider external political, technological and regulatory landscape, and applying this in conjunction with significant business awareness in order to provide review, challenge and advice.
- Managing priorities which may be conflicting and taking responsibility for planning and initiating work independently in response to the changing business risk profile
- Owning the delivery, reporting and rollout of the Customer Risk Policy suite across Heritage Customer
- Deputise for Heritage Customer Head of Risk & Governance as required.
- Operates with significant autonomy on a variety of complex risk management related tasks and activities concurrently.
- Plans and manages workloads and deliverables of team in line with time, cost and quality targets.
- Ensuring timely escalation of significant issues to the Heritage Customer Head of Risk and Governance/Heritage Customer Director and maintenance of confidentiality when given access to restricted data or information.
