Hazlewoods Farms and Estates team provides specialist advice to farmers, landowners and agribusinesses, providing you with the opportunities to work with a broad client portfolio. The team are looking to recruit a Personal Tax Associate Director/Director to join them. The role will be mixed, with both advisory work and responsibility for compliance.

Our team at Staverton comprises three partners and just over 30 professionals. With the agricultural industry being so diverse and ever-changing, it’s an exciting time to join the team and work with clients, helping them adapt to these changes.
The right person will:
Manage a portfolio of clients, including business owners, partnerships, sole traders and high net worth individuals and their related companies or trusts, ensuring excellent client service
Advise large scale commercial farming businesses on both business and personal tax issues
Build and maintain client relationships and provide a high level of client service
Manage the successful delivery of tax projects, ensuring technical excellence and a commercial approach
Effectively manage, motivate, mentor and develop other members of the team and offer a professional role model, as well as working closely with the Farms and Estates accounts team
Understand technical matters and present them in a clear and practical way
Support Partners on advisory projects and implementation of complex tax planning arrangements for farmers and landowners, including capital gains tax and inheritance tax/succession planning
Actively development the business, winning work by proactively managing existing clients and targeting new clients
Be involved in formal and informal pitching procedures
Establish a strong network of contacts, internally and externally, including agents, solicitors, bank managers and other professionals working in the rural sector
You will thrive in this role if:
You are CTA and ACCA/ACA qualified
You have experience of working in a personal tax team
You are client driven and commercially aware
You have well-developed supervisory skills, e.g., coaching and motivation of staff
You thrive in a pressurised environment and deal with tight deadlines
You are an excellent communicator in a range of situations, both verbally and in writing
You are enthusiastic and flexible in your attitude to work
