About the Team

Financial Services partner with all areas of CommBank to provide specialist advice on financial management and strategy. This advice covers finance, audit, treasury, investor relations, security, general procurement and property

We are the Line 1 Risk and Business Change function for Treasury Finance, responsible for managing the non-financial risk and compliance of CBA’s Operating Risk Framework and ensuring system and business changes are assessed, tested and implemented in a coherent and efficient way.

The core functions of the team include:

  • Controls oversight and assurance
  • Risk and compliance assessments
  • Issues and incident management
  • Remedial Action Plan (RAP) deliverables
  • Managing and embedding policies and procedures applicable to Treasury Finance

You will play an integral role in supporting Treasury Finance to effectively manage and optimise the risk and control environment. This is achieved through partnering with the SME teams within Treasury Finance, and stakeholders in Group Finance, Group Treasury, and the FS Controls Office.

Key duties will include:

  • Support the business on the design and implementation of controls to enable better risk and compliance outcomes, providing guidance and advice to senior leaders on their application
  • Planning and coordinating ongoing activities to uplift risk management and compliance across the business, including RCSA and CSA processes
  • Coordinate and oversee annual controls assessment and testing activities across the teams to ensure control testing is conducted and documented effectively and consistently in a timely manner
  • Assess impacts and coordinate implementation of new/revised Risk Steward Guides, Group Operational Risk standards and procedures, and Change Initiatives
  • Issue and incident management and root cause analysis
  • Manage Treasury Finance Profile in Risk in Site and ensure consistency and high quality of risk and control documentation
  • Partner with FSCCO and Line 2 colleagues to ensure operational risk is managed in line with the Groups Operational Risk frameworks
  • Provide Senior Leadership Teams with data driven insights on monthly risk management reporting and updates
  • Drive continuous improvement in processes
  • Benchmarking our compliance with the risk and controls framework against other teams internally and externally
  • Moving Treasury Finance to be best practice in its adoption of the Risk and Controls framework

We're interested in hearing from people who have

  • 2-3 years’ experience as Risk Analyst in Operational Risk management within Banking and Financial Services
  • Tertiary qualification in Finance, Commerce and related disciplines
  • Knowledge of Treasury products and systems is advantageous
  • Great communication skills and demonstrated ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels
  • Meticulous organisational and time management skills, including proven ability to meet deadlines and balance conflicting priorities.
