Our growing digitisation programme team produces data driven applications to improve our current business, and also create new opportunities for our customers in the UK and around the world. The team is part of the Customer Support and Service Solutions (CS3) line of business, which operates across the UK.
We are looking for a passionate and inspiring Business Analyst to join Leonardo to deliver change across a number of development and service based value streams. Working in partnership with business and technology owners both internal and external to Leonardo you will design and guide new activities, processes and frameworks required by our customers to drive out cost and increase efficiency. You will also have a remit to drive Agile culture within our development teams and beyond. You will work closely with our developers and product owners to understand problems and break down work in order to build collaborative solutions.

Our team is spread across the UK, and you can be based on any of our main UK sites to do this role. Leonardo also operates a Custom (hybrid) working model that allows our employees to split their time between attending the workplace and working remotely.

What you will do
Reporting to the Project Engineering Manager, the role of the Business Analyst will be:
- You will work closely with stakeholders to understand business problems and positively influence outcomes, whilst ensuring alignment with relevant enterprise-wide strategies
- You will capture, analyse and document business process requirements
- You will assess the business impact of any change or new process requirements identified, including presentation of cost/benefit and risk/opportunity analyses
- You will use engagement with our stakeholders to influence prioritisation of backlog items of what brings the most business benefit
- You will play an active role in team decision making and planning, not only in the prioritisation of the backlog, but also supporting the strategic direction for the Digital team.
- You will encourage Agile ways of working, coaching teams and promoting a culture of best practice, in both the Digital team and in partnership with the wider Leonardo teams that we support.

What we are looking for
You should have:
- Experience in business analysis tools and techniques, using them to draw data driven business relevant conclusions
- Experience in Business Process Modelling and mapping
- Experience in gathering requirements and documentation depending on methodology e.g. writing user stories
- Experience in Design thinking and story telling
- Have the ability to understand complex problems and articulate complex ideas and be able to transform complexity into simplicity for different audiences
- You will have cross-functional experience working with other disciplines possibly within an Agile environment, or using Agile practices
- An ability to coach colleagues on how to apply common business analysis techniques
- You will possess strong, practical stakeholder management experience
It would be useful if you have:
- Knowledge of MoD logistics or engineering systems (e.g. MJDI, GOLD)
- Understanding of the application development lifecycle. (e.g. requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment and monitoring)
- An understanding of the fundamentals of the change delivery cycle
- An ability to organise teams to accomplish, prioritise and deliver value
- Awareness of data analytic and machine learning approaches
