The Job

Business Analyst - Bath

Are you looking to apply your business analysis knowledge to new and varied challenges, helping to craft software solutions for customers around the world, while developing your skills and career in a supportive environment? If so, this role may be for you.

What's the role?
As part of our ambitious growth plans, new and exciting roles are being created within our expanding multi-disciplinary Information Systems team. This role will be ideal for a Business Analyst with experience and qualifications aligned to Level 3 of the SFIA Foundation Framework, and you will be mentored and supported by a Senior Business Analyst.

The Defence and Security sector provides unparalleled opportunities to work on fascinating projects in diverse environments - from land, sea, air and space - and we want to take you with us! You will work in partnership with high profile customers including UK Ministry of Defence, the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl), the Home Office and the National Crime Agency. You will have the opportunity to take your career to the next level, collaborating with UX designers, software developers, test specialists, data scientists and other technical SMEs.

In terms of location, we have offices in central Bath, London, Fareham, Plymouth and Weymouth and we're happy to explore flexible and homeworking arrangements.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for a Business Analyst with experience across multiple projects and a passion for solving problems in a stimulating environment. You will be able to apply analysis and user research best practice to really understand the problems faced by our customers and help to deliver elegant solutions to those problems.

Your ability to present and articulate insights clearly, and to communicate complex requirements or concepts to customers and colleagues, is important. Your role is vital in helping our clients to understand and successfully prioritise the needs of their users, identifying the risks of changes and collaboratively creating solutions to manage that change.
You will have the interpersonal skills to engage with customers, stakeholders and end users, whether face to face or remotely. While it is important to us that our development teams speak directly with clients, you will take the lead in stakeholder engagement - clarifying requirements, capturing desired outcomes and working closely with Product Owners to deliver their vision and build a future relationship.
We value professional qualifications, certifications and professional registration with appropriate institutions - we can provide the training and support for you to achieve these, if not already held.
Please note - successful applicants will need to reside in the UK and be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance at SC level.

What can we offer you?
The well-being of the team is central to our success, so workloads are managed effectively and we promote agile working, so our working hours are flexible. On top of this, we have a host of benefits and family friendly policies designed to support our people including:
  • Competitive salary
  • 26 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Holiday trading - the option to buy and sell leave
  • Private medical insurance
  • Personal Wellbeing Fund to spend every year on hobbies, sports and classes.

There's lots more that we offer too and our full range of benefits will be discussed at interview.
