We are seeking a Senior Program Manager to join the Finance and Business Integration team responsible for contributing to the launch of business expansion initiatives. This role is based in London and will have scope impacting across the European region. A successful candidate in this position will have experience in accounting roles and an aptitude for project management, internal control and process design.

This position supports and can directly influence the launch of some of Amazon's newest initiatives in the consumer retail line of business. It requires the ability to interpret and challenge business plans to identify accounting and financial reporting implications. The Senior Program Manager will collaborate with a broad group of stakeholders from business, finance and technical teams to deliver scalable solutions to complex problems.

The candidate will benefit from having operated successfully in a fast-paced global organization. Strong prioritization and communication skills are required in representing the accounting organization's responsibility of financial controllership to internal stakeholders from non-financial disciplines. Practical accounting experience is required, along with demonstrable exposure to leading and delivering on projects.

The role offers the opportunity to participate in influencing innovative business opportunities and to work closely with experienced cross-functional partners. As a member of the team, this individual will also have access to internal training and coaching opportunities to further develop the skills required to excel as a Senior Program Manager in the organization.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders to influence the implementation of financial best practices;
  • Gather and document detailed functional accounting requirements and drive the prioritization and execution of technical deliverables;
  • Think critically to identify, evaluate and communicate on potential risks and obstacles early in the project lifecycle;
  • Define and execute on the pre-launch user acceptance testing and lead the accounting launch readiness appraisal;
  • Prioritize effectively to manage a diverse portfolio of projects, supporting business growth whilst maintaining financial control;
  • Streamline program delivery across the accounting organization by standardizing project communications, execution and documentation, ensuring consistent, scalable global processes;


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Fully qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
  • Post-qualified experience working in public or industry accounting roles
  • Experience working in a multinational organization
  • Experience managing and delivering on business launches, accounting process improvements and/or technology projects


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification
  • Experience in delivering large scale cross-functional projects, ideally in accounting, finance, tax or technology for a large company
  • Experience working in a Finance Transformation role, working with tech teams to implement accounting solutions
  • Aptitude for influencing and galvanizing others to work together towards a solution
